The Bihar government has issued recruitment for the posts of Community Health Officer (CHO) under the State Health Society (SHS). In this recruitment, applications have been sought for a total of 4500 posts. This is a good opportunity for those candidates who want to make their career in the health sector.
Under this, the selected candidates will get a chance to work in different health centers in Bihar. The application process will start on 5 May 2025 and will run till 26 May 2025. Interested candidates can apply online. For this recruitment, candidates have to follow some things.
Who can apply?
Candidates should have done BSc Nursing or Post Basic Nursing with a Certificate in Community Health (CCH) or General Nurse and Midwifery (GNM) course. Apart from this, the candidate should have obtained a certificate in BSc Nursing or Post Basic Nursing with a Certificate Course in Community Health (CCH). Candidates are advised to check the notification before applying.
CHO Age Limit: What is the age limit?
The minimum age for the candidates should be 21 years. The age will be calculated as of 1 April 2025. The maximum age limit has been fixed according to different categories. The maximum age for male candidates of unreserved category and economically weaker section (EWS) is 37 years. The maximum age for male and female candidates of backward class and extremely backward class is fixed at 40 years.
The maximum age for female candidates of unreserved category and EWS will also be 40 years. At the same time, the maximum age limit for male and female candidates of Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) has been fixed at 42 years.
Bihar Health Jobs Application Fee: What is the application fee?
The application fee is Rs 500 for the general category, backward class, extremely backward class, and economically weaker section (EWS). At the same time, candidates of Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) (who are permanent residents of Bihar state) will have to pay a fee of Rs 125. The application fee for female candidates of Bihar state (irrespective of their category) will be Rs 125.
The application fee for candidates from outside the state, whether they are men or women, is Rs 500. The application fee for Divyang (with 40% or more disability) candidates has been fixed at Rs 125. Visit the official website for more information.

Community Health Officer Selection Process: What is the selection process?
During the selection process, first of all, the candidates will be given a Computer Based Test (CBT). This test will be of 100 marks and the final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained. Finally, the documents of the candidates will be verified.
