DA Hike Update: Just before the festive season, the Vishnu Dev Sai government of Chhattisgarh has opened the box of happiness for lakhs of government employees, poor families, and youth of the state. In the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday, not one, not two, but three such big decisions were taken, which are going to have a direct impact on the life and pocket of the common man.
While the government has given relief to its employees from inflation and made their Dearness Allowance (DA) equal to that of the Center, it has also announced to give free gram to make the Diwali of poor families sweet. Along with this, the way has also been cleared to settle IT companies in Nava Raipur to create new employment opportunities for the youth of the state.
Employees are in for a treat, dearness allowance increased by 2%
This is the biggest and most directly beneficial decision of the Sai government. The state government has announced a 2 percent increase in the dearness allowance of its employees and officers. After this increase, the total DA of the state employees has increased from 53 percent to 55 percent. The most important thing is that now the DA of the employees of Chhattisgarh has become equal to that of the central government employees.
Announcing this, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai himself said, "DA in the Government of India is 55 percent. In Chhattisgarh, we were giving 53 percent. Diwali is near, we are now announcing 55 percent DA for our employees."
Who will get the benefit and how much?
With this one decision, more than 3 lakh government employees and officers of the state will get direct financial benefit. This increased amount will be added to their salary, which will help a lot in reducing the pressure of inflation and meeting household expenses during the festive season.
Now 2 kg of free gram will be available every month.
The government has taken care of not only its employees but also the poorest families of the state. The cabinet has taken another welfare decision under the Public Distribution System (PDS). Antyodaya and priority category families living in scheduled areas and MADA pockets will now be distributed 2 kg of gram free of cost every month. This gram will be purchased by the Civil Supplies Corporation through the NeML e-auction platform, so that the entire process remains transparent.
The cabinet has also directed that the entire dues of the beneficiaries who have not received their gram between July and November 2025 should be paid by December at all costs. This decision will ensure that the plate of any poor family does not remain empty during the festive season, and they also get nutrition.
Nava Raipur will become an IT hub, and the youth will get jobs.
The government has also played a big bet on the future of the state and the employment of youth. The cabinet has approved a very attractive proposal to promote the establishment of IT and IITS (Information Technology Enabled Services) industries in Nava Raipur. 90 acres of land in Nava Raipur will be allotted to private IT companies and startups at concessional premium rates.
Who will benefit?
Officials say that getting land at low rates will encourage big tech companies and startups to open their offices in Nava Raipur. This will not only create a strong innovation ecosystem but will also accelerate urbanization and settlement in Nava Raipur.
When big IT companies come to a city, it benefits the local people both directly and indirectly. This not only creates jobs in the IT sector, but also leads to the development of better roads, schools, hospitals, and other civic amenities.
