Legendary Asrani To Star Alongside Akshay Kumar & Saif Ali Khan In Final Two Films; Check Out

Legendary film actor Asrani passed away on October 20, 2025, after prolonged illness at the age of 84. The actor who made his debut with Hare Kaanch Ki Choodiyan in 1967 and went on to star in several iconic classic Hindi movies including Satyakam, Guddi, Mere Apne, Bawarchi, Parichay, Anamika, Namak Haraam, Chupke Chupke etc.

However, his most iconic role remains that of “Angrezon Ke Zamaane Ka Jailor” in Ramesh Sippy’s Sholay.

Post Sholay, Asrani also became a filmmaker and helmed the 1977 movie Chala Murari Hero Banne, Salaam Memsaab (1979), Hum Nahin Sudhrenge (1980), Dil Hi To Hai (1992) and Udaan (1997).

In his later years, Asrani starred in some of the most iconic cult comedy movies from Hulchul, Garam Masala, Deewane Huye Paagal, Dhamaal, Dhol, Malamaal Weekly and Bhool Bhulaiyaa etc.

The veteran actor will next be seen in Priyadarshan’s horror comedy Bhooth Bangla starring Akshay Kumar in the lead role.

The movie marks Asrani’s reunion with Priyadarshan after years.

After Bhooth Bangla, Asrani will next be seen in Priyadarshan’s thriller Haiwaan starring Saif Ali Khan and Akshay Kumar.

Remembering Asrani, Akshay Kumar posted on social media, “Speechless with grief at the passing of Asrani ji. We had just shared the warmest of hugs just a week back at the shoot of Haiwaan. Bahot pyare insaan the…he had the most legendary comic timing. From all my cult films Hera Pheri to Bhagam Bhag to De Dana Dan, Welcome and now our unreleased Bhoot Bangla and Haiwaan…I had worked and learned so much from him. What an absolute loss to our industry. God bless you Asrani Sir, for giving us a million reasons to laugh. Om Shanti”.

Besides Bhoot Bangla and Haiwaan, Asrani is also expected to be seen in Vikas Bahl’s Dil Ka Darwaaza Khol Na Darling starring Jaya Bachchan, Siddhant Chaturvedi and Wamiqa Gabbi.

Amid Asrani’s demise, a video has gone viral on social media where the veteran actor was seen dancing to sindhi songs at an event.
