IPL 2025: Why is Jake Fraser-McGurk not in starting XI in GT vs DC Match 35?

(DC) will not have Jake Fraser-McGurk's services in their clash against Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Saturday, April 19.

Delhi are coming into this clash on the back of a morale-boosting Super Over win against Rajasthan Royals. They have five wins from six games and are sitting pretty at the top of the table. Meanwhile, Gujarat Titans lost to Lucknow Super Giants by six wickets in their last game, bringin their four-match winning streak to an end. Shubman Gill and Co. are third on the table with four wins from six games.

GT vs DC, Match 35 - Toss Update

Shubman Gill won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Punjab batter stated that his team is not looking at past performances. Instead, their focus is on the present. Meanwhile, Axar Patel revealed that he would have also fielded first had he won the toss. Both captains mentioned the high temperature and how it could affect the surface.

Jake Fraser-McGurk not playing, Ishant Sharma comes back in

Both Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans have only two overseas players in their starting lineup. Fraser-McGurk, who has failed to deliver the goods so far, has been left out of the starting XI for this game. Meanwhile, the Titans have brought back the experienced Ishant Sharma in the lineup.

We will bowl first. It is very hot. The wicket looks very good. If you won't keep much grass, it would crack up. Things have been going well. We don't think much about the past. It is about turning up on the day. It takes a couple of weeks for the team to gel in. We are going with the same team. Hopefully, Rabada will come back in 10 days or so.
