A day after a sudden weather change with dust storm and rain, Delhi is set to witness cloudy skies and no heatwave conditions on Sunday, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
On Saturday, Delhi reported a maximum temperature of 35.2 degrees Celsius, which is 0.9 notches below normal. The minimum temperature was recorded at 19 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season’s average. The relative humidity ranged between 41 per cent and 78 per cent throughout the day.
The weather department has predicted partly cloudy skies for Sunday. The maximum temperature is expected to touch 37 degree Celsius and the minimum temperature would be 20 degree Celsius.
Further, the IMD has predicted rainfall, accompanied with thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds over East and North East India for the next four to five days.
Weather forecast across states
The IMD has forecast thunderstorms and lightning, with dust storms and gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph, for parts of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Himachal Pradesh on Sunday.
Several regions of Himachal Pradesh have received rainfall since Friday evening, while some areas in the Lahaul and Spiti district witnessed light snowfall, the local Meteorological (MeT) office said on Saturday.
