Senior officers, including the Gangavathi Deputy Superintendent of Police and the Tavaragera Circle Police Inspector, visited the scene. Police have filed a First Information Report (FIR) against ten individuals, based on a complaint from the victim’s family.
Investigators suspect the murder was linked to an old enmity and a property dispute. A manhunt is under way to catch the suspects, with police saying traps have been laid.
Four-Year-Old Girl Allegedly Killed by Mother and Her Partner in Rajasthan
In another horrific case, a four-year-old girl was allegedly strangled to death by her mother and the mother’s live-in partner in Rajasthan. The crime took place in Jaipur’s Muhana area. The girl’s body was later found in Baran district, hidden inside a cupboard, according to a TOI report.
Girl’s Body Found After Foul Smell Alerted Family
The child, named Ishika, was found on Saturday morning at a house in Jaitpura village under the Bhanwargarh police station. Her body had been wrapped in a plastic sack and hidden inside an iron cupboard. Her grandfather, Jai Ram, discovered the body after noticing a foul smell.
Police arrested Mahaveer Bairwa on Sunday. He had been living with Roshan Bai, the girl’s mother, in Jaipur. Jai Ram told police that Mahaveer brought Roshan to their Baran home around seven months ago. Roshan was previously married to a man named Ravindra, and Ishika was her daughter from that marriage.
Argument Believed to Have Led to Murder
Police said a fight between Mahaveer and Roshan on 29 May allegedly led to the child’s death. Investigations suggest Mahaveer strangled the girl, packed her body in a plastic sack, and took it to Baran the next day, hiding it inside a cupboard at his family’s home before fleeing.
“Based on Jai Ram’s statement, a zero FIR for murder has been filed against Mahaveer and Roshan at Bhanwargarh police station. The Muhana police have been informed,” said an officer.
Mahaveer’s Criminal Past Raises Concern
Authorities confirmed that Mahaveer had previously served eight years in jail for murder and was out on bail for another murder case when the current incident occurred.
Roshan Bai is also named in the FIR and is expected to be arrested soon. A police team from Jaipur has already reached Baran to assist in the investigation.
Family Says Mahaveer Returned Drunk Before Fleeing
Jai Ram told police that Mahaveer returned to their Baran home on 30 May under the influence of alcohol, created a disturbance, and then vanished. The body was found two days later when Jai Ram traced the source of a foul smell.
Police from Baran and Jaipur are conducting a detailed investigation. Forensic tests and further questioning are expected to reveal more about the sequence of events.
