Following the mob lynching incident on Monday that claimed the life of Suleiman Rahim Khan Pathan, 21, from Jamner’s Betawad Khurd, the situation in Jamner city has returned to normal.
Meanwhile, sources have expressed the possibility of setting up an Special Investigation Team (SIT) to investigate the attack case. Former Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar MP and MIM leader Imtiaz Jaleel’s colleagues met the family of the youth in Betawad on Tuesday night and discussed the incident, as well as discussed the attack case with police officers in Jamner.
The police had received complaints that irregularities were being carried out in the cafes situated near the private classes, school, and college premises in Jamner. On Monday, 21-year-old Suleiman from Betawad was sitting with a girl in a cafe when a mob attacked him on suspicion. Suleiman’s parents took him to the Jamner sub district health center but was declared dead upon arrival.
Suleman's father filed a complaint against ten to fifteen people at the Jamner police station in connection with the death. As soon as the news of Suleman's death came out, the atmosphere in Jamner heated up. A crowd gathered outside the police station. Shops were closed. District Superintendent of Police Maheshwar Reddy arrived in Jamner and pacified the crowd.
Meanwhile, SRP teams were called to control the situation. According to the complaint filed by Suleman's family, the police arrested three suspects on the first day and four on the second day. So far, eight people have been arrested.

The situation in Jamner has now returned to normal and the atmosphere has calmed down.” Nashik IGP Dattatreya Karale visited Jamner and took stock of the incident.
On Wednesday, the police took action against eight cafes and seized their materials. It was said that evidence of irregularities was found at this place. Taking cognizance of the incident, MIM party leader Imtiaz Jaleel's colleagues met the family of the deceased youth, Suleman, in Betawad and also discussed with the Jamner police. Meanwhile, it is likely that the entire matter will be investigated by an SIT.
