Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rain alert for 10 districts in the eastern part of Madhya Pradesh on Monday.
This includes Jabalpur, Rewa, and Sagar divisions along with others. Due to active trough conditions, these areas are likely to experience intense rainfall, while Bhopal, Indore, and Ujjain will see clear skies and bright sunshine.
Alerts issued on Monday
Heavy Rain Yellow Alert: Panna, Satna, Rewa, Mauganj, Sidhi, Maihar, Katni, Jabalpur, Seoni, and Balaghat: These areas may receive up to 4.5 inches of rain in the next 24 hours.
Light Rain Alert: In other districts of the state, there is a yellow alert for thunderstorms and light rain.

What do meteorologists say?
According to senior meteorologists, heavy rain will occur in several districts over the next three days. Rain activity will intensify from August 13 - 14, and the second half of August will see a prolonged spell of heavy rainfall across the state.
A new low-pressure system is expected to develop over the Bay of Bengal on August 13, which could trigger widespread heavy rainfall across the state.
Meteorologists predict the second half of August will see intense and continuous rains, with many regions meeting their seasonal rainfall quota by month-end.
Rain records
So far, eastern Madhya Pradesh has received 37% more rainfall than average, while the western part has received 25% more. However, districts in Indore and Ujjain divisions remain below normal levels.

Heavy Rain Yellow Alert: Seoni, Mandla, and Balaghat: These areas may receive up to 4.5 inches of rain in the next 24 hours.
Light Rain Alert: A yellow alert for thunderstorms and light rain has been issued for all other districts of the state.
