Lucknow: Chief Minister has announced a significant gift for women in the state for the upcoming festival of Raksha Bandhan. From the morning of August 8 to midnight on August 10, women will be able to travel for free on all Uttar Pradesh Roadways (UPSRTC) and city buses.
CM Directs Extra Buses, Focus on High-Traffic Cities
The Chief Minister has directed officials to ensure an adequate number of buses are in operation during these three days to prevent any inconvenience. He has also instructed special arrangements to be made in major cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, and Gorakhpur, which typically see high passenger traffic.
State Targets 4.60 Crore Flags Under ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’
In a related announcement, the Chief Minister reviewed preparations for Independence Day (August 15) and the "Har Ghar Tiranga" campaign. The state has a target of hoisting 4.60 crore tricolors, with all preparations to be completed by August 8.
Tiranga Yatras, School Events from August 9 to 12
From August 9 to 12, "Tiranga Yatra" and festivals will be organized, including special programs in schools and colleges. A "Partition Horrors Remembrance Day" Tiranga Yatra will also be held across the state on August 14.
