1. Liver problems

Infections such as dengue, chikungunya, or other viral fevers often cause a drop in platelet count, which may result in spontaneous bleeding from the mouth or gums.

4. Cancer of the mouth or throat

Persistent bleeding, ulcers that don't heal, or pain when swallowing may be a sign of mouth or throat cancer. Early detection is important, so never ignore these symptoms.

5. Vitamin C deficiency (scurvy)

Vitamin C deficiency weakens blood vessels and gums, causing frequent bleeding. This condition is called scurvy and was common earlier due to unhealthy diet.
