Former Indian cricketer and currently commentating in IPL 2025, Navjot Singh Sidhu has predicted who will win the title of IPL 2025. He praised Punjab Kings captained by Shreyas Iyer and called them a strong contender for the title.

 

Navjot Singh Sidhu said that this team of Shreyas Iyer and Ricky Ponting did what no one expected from them. He believes that this team was being underestimated but they performed brilliantly. 

He said, "The same players are in the team, Prabhsimran Singh, Arshdeep Singh, Nehal Vadhera. Priyansh Arya is just coming from the league. So by giving him confidence, he has become a match winner. Today you see Nehal Vadhera's amazing innings of 70 runs, at a strike rate of 180 and along with that Shashank Singh's innings. Different players becoming Man of the Match in different matches. It means nothing can be better than this." Vadhera had scored 70 runs in 37 balls with the help of 5 sixes and as many fours against Rajasthan Royals. Shashank had scored 59 runs in 30 balls.

Punjab Kings contenders to win the trophy

Navjot Singh Sidhu further said, "Punjab Kings have not only come forward but are also strong contenders to win the title. I am sure that Punjab Kings will be in the top 2, the other team with them will be RCB or Gujarat. And only one of the teams that reaches the top 2 wins the title. Since 2011, every team that has won the title has won it from the top 2. Hyderabad won only once in 2016, which was not in the top 2. Because you have to win 3 matches continuously, you have to travel continuously."

Punjab Kings in playoffs for the first time since 2014

This time the Punjab team is in great form under the captaincy of Shreyas Iyer.
