Emmerdale fans say 'we are so back' as Robert's secret exposed after phone scene

There were hints on Emmerdale of a Robron reunion on Friday night, as Aaron Dingle tried to kiss his ex Robert Sugden.

Amid his turmoil over his killer husband John Sugden who is now on the run, Aaron continued to spiral in the latest visit to the ITV soap. Robert tried his best to support his ex despite being warned to stay away from him.

As the pair got closer again and Aaron poured his heart out to Robert, he misread the signals slightly and went in for a kiss. But Robert rejected this, explaining it wasn't the right time.

Of course Robert would love nothing more than to be back with Aaron, his soulmate, but he knows Aaron is in a dark place given recent events. He reassured Aaron that this wasn't a rejection, but instead now was not the time.

Initially Aaron took this the wrong way and full of anger, he called Robert out. But later in the episode after a row with his mum Chas Dingle, Aaron had thought about things and made amends with his true love.

As Robert joined him outside the pub, Aaron told Robert he was right to push him away. Earlier in the episode, Robert comforted Aaron who feared "he'd never be rid" of John, while Aaron was surprised Robert could even look at him after what had gone on in recent months.

Robert reassured him then, telling him "he cared about him a lot", and in the later scene he told Aaron he needed "time and space to heal" before they even contemplated a reunion. Aaron said he didn't mean what he did or said, and Robert promised to "fix him", "as mates".

As Robert walked away, telling Aaron to get some rest and he'd call him soon, we saw Robert receive a mystery text message. Robert seemed concerned and began looking around the village, while the secret message said: "Stop ignoring me. Call me. K."

This has to be the arrival of newcomer Kev, who shares a secret link with Robert that gets exposed onscreen next week. Robert's secret regarding Kev will be explained, as well as what Kev is doing in the village.

But fans aren't worried, believing Friday's episode was enough to seal a Robron reunion some time soon. Taking to X, one fan said: "Thank you Emmerdale writers sorry I doubted you," as another added: "NO NOTES."

A third fan said: "Scrapyard scene. Deep emotional chat. Attempted kiss. Robert putting Aaron’s healing first. Aaron defending Robert to Chas. Friendship era 2.0 entered. WE ARE SOOOOO BACK!!!"

Another fan posted: "Robert refusing the kiss and making it clear that he wants Aaron more than anything, but the priority now is for him to heal and that he will be there to help because he cares and not because he wants something in return Oooh, I know your game #Emmerdale writers #Robron."

The tweets kept on coming with one reading: "THAT WAS THE ROBERT JACOB SUGDEN VINDICATION EPISODE!!!!!!" Another said: "Robron soft launch before the full blown reunion at christmas oh i am here for this."
