's Gareth Locke-Locke has revealed that he's fifty percent more likely to develop dementia after his mum's diagnosis pushed him to undergo genetic tests. The reality star, who is married to co-star Ollie Locke, appeared on ITV's Lorraine today to speak about his mother's dementia diagnosis.

Speaking to presenter Christine Lampard, revealed that his mum's condition pushed him to undergo tests to see what the likelihood would be of him developing dementia. "I did a gene test and I've got the two genes, which makes me- I think the stat is that by the time I'm 75, there's a 50 percent chance that I'll develop dementia. I've got young children, they're two in July, I want to be there for my kids," he said.

He added: "It was a monumental thing for my mum to go through this but for my family to go through this. It took away this key person, this amazing powerhouse, loving parent. It was really tough, really tough and I wouldn't want that to happen to my kids. It's very tough."

Choking up, Gareth revealed that the results have made him rethink his approach to life. "It's one of the things where you look at environmental things like exercise. I quit smoking, I cut down drinking. You eat more healthy fishes to try to negate the risk of developing it later on."

Gareth married Ollie in 2020 at London's Natural History Museum before welcoming twins Apollo Magnus Obi and Cosima Emily Bex via surrogacy in July 2023.

At the end of last year, the couple admitted that they were after pursuing surrogacy the first time. "Life is very busy with twins. We went on a four-year journey to have them, and there was a lot of heartbreak in that.

"They're such amazing kids that you can’t help but feel like maybe we should have more. I think we’re counting our luck at the moment, and we’re very happy with the two, but never say never," Gareth told The in December.

Ollie added: “I think we’d be very lucky to have two fabulous kids, and if we think about it later down the line, we may well consider adoption.”

Gareth later said that after finding the surrogacy journey "tough", they would not go through it again. "Anyone going through it, I really take my hat off to them because it can be so difficult and heartbreaking."
