Mark Williams says he has a “big decision” to make after the - regarding his eyes. The three-time champ is weighing up whether to undergo lens replacement surgery.
facing in is scheduled to have the procedure on 12 June.
The 50-year-old believes that over the last six months his eyesight has "deteriorated quite badly”. He said recently that his "eyes had completely gone”.
But Williams is by no means certain about the procedure, having spoken to fellow professional Hamilton was once ranked in the world’s Top 10, but has told Williams that having the surgery "ruined his career".
Williams said: "I have been reading up and talking to people who have had it done and I've got to be honest, it is putting me off a bit. I've got a big decision to make. A couple of people I have spoken to, especially Anthony Hamilton at length, have said it is no good under the lights and it has ruined his career.

"It has sort of put me under pressure. After this is finished, it is something I am going to have to look more into."
Williams earned his place in the last four after his remarkable quarter-final win over four-time world champ Having led 12-8, William was pegged back by Higgins to 12-12 for a final frame decider.
In a tight affair, Higgins missed a blue on the cushion which opened the window for Williams to earn a semi-final ticket.
“Unbelievable game, unbelievable finish. The blue I played was probably one of my best shots for many years,” Williams told Sport.
“What a blue... balls of steel. It was tough a shot. I could have gone in-off. I could have over cut it. I just went for it full-blooded.
“There was not one bit of nerves, maybe I've only had them a handful of times in my entire career.”
