A Netflix "refreshing" comedy has some exciting news to share after it became a hit with fans earlier this year.
Running Point, which premiered on Netflix in February 2025, features Kate Hudson, known for her role in How To Lose A Guy in 10 Days, as Isla Gordon.

She unexpectedly finds herself at the helm of her family business, the Los Angeles Waves basketball team.
Isla must learn to steer through the male-dominated world of basketball, receiving little support from her four brothers or the unpredictable players.
Luckily, she has her best mate and chief of staff Ali (Brenda Song) by her side but the drama's finale left viewers hanging as the Waves lost the championship game.
Isla's personal life also took a complex turn as she found herself torn between the team's coach Jay Brown (Jay Ellis) and her fiancé Lev (played by New Girl star Max Greenfield).
Fans were quick to heap praise on Running Point on social media, comparing it to comedy classics like The Office and Ted Lasso.
One fan penned: "I'm not really a sports fan, but this series is great and funny. It's funny in a way similar to Ted Lasso."
Another exclaimed: "And the crowd goes WILD! ! ! Wow such a fun and refreshing watch. I binged the entire season just like I did with Nobody Wants This."
Declaring it the "funniest show in years", another viewer commented: "It's been a while since I laughed so hard and legit so consistently with a show, every single actor delivers the jokes perfectly!

"Love Kate Hudson and this show brought her back to the top!"
It wasn't long before Netflix greenlit a second series of Running Point and now there's a crucial development.
Production for Running Point's sophomore season has commenced with the comedy now underway.
Hudson took to Instagram to reveal the exciting news alongside a snap with several co-stars, penning: "We're so back. RUNNING POINT season 2 is officially in production!"
The debut series was penned and executive produced by The Office's Mindy Kaling alongside fellow The Office executive producer Howard Klein.
Additional behind-the-scenes talent includes The Studio's Ike Barinholtz, The Mindy Project's David Stassen and actress Hudson herself.
Running Point is available to watch on Netflix.
