There was a lot of uproar in the Parliament over the SIR issue. The opposition is constantly demanding a discussion on this and is alleging that the voter list is being tampered with. The atmosphere remained heated during the proceedings of the Lok Sabha on August 5, and as soon as the Speaker arrived, slogans like 'Jai Shri Ram' and 'Assalamu Aleikum' echoed in the House.
There is a huge uproar in both houses demanding a discussion on the issue of SIR. Due to the uproar, the proceedings of both houses are being adjourned repeatedly. On August 5, when the proceedings of the Lok Sabha began and the Lok Sabha Speaker arrived in the House, someone said "Jai Shri Ram", while someone said "Assalamu Aleikum". However, as soon as there was some peace, an MP said loudly - "Assalamu Aleikum Sir." This video is becoming increasingly viral on social media.
On the other hand, the opposition has demanded a discussion on SIR and says that the protest will continue until the issue is discussed in Parliament and the Election Commission gives a clear answer on it. Opposition leaders say that such vote theft will not be tolerated.
Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said, "Democracy will be strengthened when everyone gets the right to vote. When that right is being snatched away, where should we raise our voice? The government should listen and take action against those officials who are constantly tampering with the voter list. There must be a discussion on SIR."
