Emmerdale fans could be in store for a huge romance twist as frissons of chemistry have been spotted between Mackenzie Boyd and Ross Barton on the ITV soap. The pair's friendship has blossomed in recent weeks - with spoilers confirming the two will continue to get closer - and with Ross confirmed as the father of Charity Dingle's baby, the love triangle could turn even more twisted.
Charity cheated on her husband Mack with Ross, but now fans think Mack could do the same behind his wife's back with Ross. Taking to X to share their theories, one tweeted: "Okay I'm not gonna lie, I can see Emmerdale getting Ross and Mack involved in an affair... as the ultimate FU to Charity lol."
A Reddit user echoed: "Yay Ross and Mack!" as another pointed out their closeness would "amp up the angst when the truth comes out" about Ross and Charity's affair.
"I can see them having an affair of their own..." someone else chimed in.
A fourth said: "A Mack and Ross friendship What the hell did I just read? We all know that's going to pot when the truth about the baby comes out."

Other fans, however, reckon it could be Mack and Aaron who get together after Aaron's fallout with his ex-husband Robert Sugden.
One posted: "Mackenzie is truly the only man on Emmerdale that truly values Aaron and not for any selfish reason. Put Charity with Vanessa or Ross and let Aaron and Mack be together. A friends to lovers arc would be epic. And Robert can be Robert with Kev or someone else."
Another wild theory posited: "I feel like Aaron and Kev have actually slept together before... and they're gonna turn the tables on Robert!"
