Now is a good time to give your Freeview TV a quick retune with the free-to-watch platform confirming that it's just made some changes to the telly guide. There is a total of four updates in this latest release which include one new channel launching, two services moving position and one being shut down for good.
Firstly, there are new things to watch thanks to the launch of India Today on channel 258.
The channel is India's leading English news channel and offers the latest views and updates on politics, business, cricket, Bollywood and more.
Next, there are the two platforms switching positions on the TV guide. These include GREAT! Movies, which moves from slot 34 to 50, and GREAT! TV, which switches from channel 50 to channel 34.
Finally, there's the bad news with ITVBe+1 closing its doors for good.
Just last month, ITVBe shut down to make way for a new service called ITV Quiz.
Now the +1 option is also being removed.
As you've probably guessed from its name, ITVBe's replacement - ITV Quiz - does exactly what it says on the tin with this update showing quiz and game shows throughout the day and night.
Taking a quick look at this week's upcoming TV guide, content on ITV Quiz includes Tipping Point, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Wheel Of Fortune, Deal or no Deal, Lino and Tenable.
"On 16th July 2025 some broadcasters are making changes to their channels.
"You will need to retune to update your TV and keep your channels and TV Guide up to date."
How to retune your TV
Freeview has issued advice on how to retune devices, and here are the steps every user needs to follow.
• Press menu on your box or TV remote control
• Select 'set-up', 'installation', 'update' or a similar option. If you're asked for a password, the default code is '1234' or '0000'.
• Select 'first-time installation' (sometimes called 'factory reset', 'full retune' or 'default settings').
• Press 'OK' if your equipment asks if it's OK to delete existing channels and then your retune should start automatically. If you're prompted to, save the channels that are found.
