Louisville plane crash LIVE: Smoke seen for miles after UPS plane crashes

A UPS cargo plane crashed on takeoff from Louisville, Kentucky, sparking a massive fire. The Federal Aviation Administration revealed that the incident occurred around 5:15 pm local time, as the plane was en route to Honolulu from Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport. Police were called to the scene following reports of a crash near the airport. Injuries have been reported, according to a social media post by the Louisville Metro Police Department.

Louisville's police department has confirmed the presence of a fire and debris, urging locals to keep their distance. Louisville Metro Emergency Services has extended the shelter-in-place order to all areas north of the airport up to the Ohio River.
