The upcoming official Michael Jackson biopic was set to release this October with the late singer's nephew Jaafar Jackson in the title role.
Although filming concluded a year ago, the Lionsgate movie from Bohemian Rhapsody producer Graham King reportedly had extensive reshoots last month of up to 22 days.
Back in January, it was reported that the third act of the original single biopic would need to be reshot, allegedly because the studio could not legally depict alleged 1993 sexual abuse victim Jordan Chandler.
However, Lionsgate told Variety that there was no truth to this claim.
Nevertheless, "Michael" has now been delayed to a new release date in 2026, following rumours in May that this was bound to happen.
Michael will now hit cinemas on April 24, 2026 and it still remains to be decided if the film will be split into two. Considering the first cut was 3.5 hours, the additional filming and more money to be made, it would be surprising if this didn't happen.
