Peace lilies are commonly touted as a beginner friendly houseplant. Not just beautiful and calming, the peace lily is also a good housemate - they purify the air by removing toxins.
As they're tropical plants, they're well suited to humid spaces and indoor light, making them ideal decor for your average British household. Where people run into trouble is learning how to keep their peace lily healthy enough to keep flowering. It is possible to keep peace lilies healthy and flowering for years on end, says Jordan Trainer, owner of the Glasgow plant shop Plantique.
How to make a peace lily flower again 1. The right light and fertiliserAs Jordan explained it, the houseplant will grow flowers once more if given the chance to thrive with the proper light conditions and plant food.
"Getting peace lilies to flower again can be tricky but my recommendations would be to make sure the plant is getting sufficient bright, indirect light, feeding regularly with a liquid indoor plant or even a diluted tomato feed."
2. Don't let peace lilies suffer in the wrong placePeace lilies will suffer in draughty places, one aspect that's important to note as we move into the colder months.

"Keeping the room warm and plant away from cooler temperatures and drafts is also important along with higher humidity which you can achieve with regular misting or a humidifier nearby."
The Royal Horticultural Society says average room temperatures of 12-24°C are fine, but advised people with peace lilies to keep them away from hot radiators and cold draughts.
3. Check if it's time to repot"Flowering can also be inhibited if the plant is root-bound meaning it needs more space to grow," noted the houseplant expert.
"Re-pot using a good quality indoor potting mix with good drainage to encourage both root and foliage growth which will help the plant to flower again."
His personal favourite indoor soil brand, which he recommends to all customers, is the Soil Ninja range. The brand's Premium Calathea and Maranta blend is optimised for plants like peace lilies, spider plants, and prayer plants.
"Follow these steps and you will have a happy and healthy peace lily for years to come!"
