Princess Beatrice's husband has taken to social media this week to share a rare photograph of his son Wolfie. Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 41, shared multiple stunning photographs from Criccieth Beach in North Wales, where he has been making "beautiful memories" at the start of the summer holidays.
As well as sharing photographs of the beach, dolphins, and a boat, Princess Beatrice's husband also published on his Instagram account a photograph of his nine-year-old son, Beatrice's stepson, holding his arms up in the air with the sea behind him. Three other people can be seen in the background of the sweet photograph. It is believed they stayed at Wern Holiday Cottages for the trip, with Edoardo tagging their account in his Instagram caption, which read: "Stunning North Wales. Beautiful memories."
It is not known whether Princess Beatrice, 36, accompanied her husband on the holiday.
It is also unclear as to whether the couple's two daughters Sienna, three, and Athena - who was born in January this year - were on the staycation.
This rare insight on Edoardo's Instagram comes after the family had a challenging start to the year, when Beatrice gave birth prematurely to Athena.
In an essay for British Vogue, the Princess spoke about how she felt when welcoming Athena into the world early on January 22 this year, and the "fear" of being told she was going to give birth weeks earlier than expected.
She wrote: "Nothing quite prepares you for the moment when you realise your baby is going to arrive early. There's so little control.
"You know that when your baby arrives the doctors and midwives are going to be there, doing everything they can to ensure she makes it through those challenging first few days. But you have no idea how these things will play out, what happens next. The uncertainty leaves you with an overwhelming fear of the unknown."
A week after Athena's arrival, Edoardo shared a picture of his newborn baby on Instagram, writing: "We welcomed Baby Athena into our lives last week. She is tiny and absolutely perfect. We are all (including Wolfie and Sienna) already completely besotted with her.
"Our hearts are overflowing with love for you, baby Athena. A massive thank you from my wife and I goes out to all the wonderful staff at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital for their exceptional care and support during this incredibly special time."
