It's a situation most parents might have been in - finding last-minute solutions to their children's school or home projects. In 2019, Princess Kate was in a sticky situation when she was caught making a quick visit to her local Sainsbury's to pick up Halloween costumes for Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
Kate was spotted back in 2019 making the relatable dash and shopper, Kathy Whittaker, spotted the Princess with her security. The mum of four said: "Another shopper said that Kate was in the shop near the clothing and pointed where she was to me. I just couldn't believe it."
As reported in Mirror, she added: "She was with Charlotte and George looking at Halloween outfits but her bodyguard was kind of watching people with phones and telling them no pictures."
Ms Whittaker added, "I managed to get the photo as she was at the self-service checkout. You just don't expect it to happen, you think Kate would shop in Waitrose or Harrods."
Princess Kate was seen asking her children what they wanted to dress up as in the Hardwick Industrial Estate branch in Norfolk before using the self-checkout tills to complete her purchases.
This isn't the first time Kate has been spotted on a high street or in a regular shop. In 2018, she was spotted browsing around The Range in King's Lynn, and in 2020, she was seen again in another branch of Sainsbury's near her Norfolk home, Anmer Hall.
Norfolk is where the Wales family spend their holidays, as the late Queen Elizabeth gave the property, Amner Hall, to William and Kate on their wedding day. Christmas cards and birthday cards posted by Kensington Palace are often taken on the grounds of the property.
William and Kate were also spotted in March 2024, visting their local farm shop in Windsor amid speculation about the Princess of Wales's health.
A few days later, the Princess released a video announcing her cancer diagnosis on March 22, 2024, explaining her absence from royal duty. She underwent preventative chemotherapy to treat it.
Now, and since January 2025, the Princess revealed she is in remission from cancer following a year of health challenges for the Royal Family.
Speaking on a previous public engagement about her challenges. She said: "You have to find your new normal, and that takes time... and it's a rollercoaster, it's not smooth, like you expect it to be. But the reality is you go through hard times."
