The UK is home to incredible coastal landscapes, but it is often overlooked in favour of other European or international destinations. One beautiful village is worth visiting before colder weather kicks in.
Each summer, Brits are heading out to popular hotspots like Spain, France and Greece to enjoy warmer weather and stunning beaches - but one part of the UK can't be missed. A woman has shared her experiences of visiting the area that she says she couldn't believe wasn't located elsewhere.
Porthcurno is a stunning village in Cornwall. Surrounded by beautiful beaches, there's one which can't be missed.
On TikTok, @flossys_wonderland, the woman says: "I'm on a mission to find places across the UK that make people say, 'I can't believe this is in the UK', me included." In her video, she shows crystal clear waters and blue skies.
She adds: "I'm trying to change that by sharing places that are undeniably beautiful, and we're starting strong with a spot near Penzance in Cornwall. This gem of a beach looks straight out of Mallorca or Ibiza."
The beach, called Pedn Vounder, is near the village of Porthcurno.
The woman adds that reaching the beach can be tricky and you'll need to venture across a coastal path, with a short scramble down to the private spot.
In the comments, one person wrote: "Pedn Vounder is the best beach in the UK. Took my breath away when I first saw it recently. As good as any beach anywhere in the world!"
Another penned: "I've been here at 5am to watch the sunrise (pretty sure it rises the other side) but we had it all to ourselves! It was magical."
Porthcurno is at the southern end of the Penwith Peninsula - the western point of Cornwall. While you're there you can pick up a Cornish pasty, soak up the scenery and even visit a theatre on a cliff.
Driving is the best way to get to Porthcurno, however reasonably regular buses run during summer months from Penzance if you don't drive.
Anywhere We Roam says one must-visit place in the area is the Minack Theatre. It says: "At the western end of Porthcurno Beach, a series of steps cut into the cliff form the spectacular Minack Theatre.
"Following the natural contour of the bay, the views over the outdoor terrace theatre across the ocean provide a truly unique setting."
If you're looking for a scenic part of the UK to visit, look no further than Porthcurno.
