gave his former caddie Joe LaCava a Rolex after clinching his fifth victory in 2019. The American, who dominated golf in the late 1990s and the 2000s, worked with LaCava from 2011 until 2023 before the duo went their separate ways.
Woods will be remembered as one of the greatest players in the history of golf and won 14 Majors between 1997 and 2008. Although the 49-year-old struggled for form on the golf course during much of his spell alongside LaCava, the pair shared a strong friendship. And they hit the jackpot when the legendary golfer won his fifth title at Augusta to land the 15th Major of his career.
According to the , LaCava received a Rolex watch from Woods but the timepiece proved too flashy for the caddie to take out of the box.
The outlet also revealed that when Woods learnt that LaCava's daughter Lauren was celebrating her birthday in Florida, he insisted that she and the caddie's wife Megan stay in his beach house.
Woods then arranged for the pair to have lunch on his luxury yacht and arranged for surprise birthday balloons and presents to be delivered.
Discussing Woods during an interview with the aforementioned publication ahead of the 2023 Masters, LaCava explained: "Tiger's still well received.
"We played a practice round Monday morning and there were still a million people out there and they were going crazy for him. There might be one or two guys who are less of a fan, but the majority still love the guy."
And he revealed that the veteran had built a library for kids at St Jude's Children's Hospital as he added: "He's done so many of those things that people don't know about."
Woods finished in 60th position at the Masters last year but hasn't competed on the PGA Tour since featuring in The Open last July. He is after rupturing his Achilles last month.
And explaining his injury setback in March, he wrote on social media: "As I began to ramp up my own training and practice at home, I felt a sharp pain in my left Achilles, which was deemed to be ruptured.
"This morning, Dr Charlton Stucken of Hospital for Special Surgery in West Palm Beach, Florida performed a minimally-invasive Achilles tendon repair for a ruptured tendon. I am back home now and plan to focus on my recovery and rehab, thank you for all the support."
