Ange Postecoglou faces a tough decision as Destiny Udogie warns against resting key Tottenham players in the upcoming clash with Wolves. Despite everything riding on next week's pivotal Europa League quarter-final second leg against Eintracht Frankfurt, Tottenham can't afford to look past their Premier League opponents, insists rising star Udogie.
The Italian defender, when questioned about potential rotation for the Molineux fixture, was unwavering: "No, I think every game is important. Now we have a league match coming and we need to be ready for that game. Then after that we'll look towards next week's match. Obviously we are not in a good position and every game is important for us to go up a little bit in the table so we really want to win."
Wolves, who have hit a surge of form and edged closer to safety with a crucial win against Ipswich and three successive top-flight victories, can move to within two points of Spurs with victory.
And Udogie warns the north Londoners must continue competing on both fronts; in the league and in Europe.
"Everyone at this club wants to win the competition so we are all going in the same direction," he added. "We played really well on Thursday, it was a good performance and just the goals were missing. We created chances but sometimes you need luck in football and Thursday was an unlucky night.
"It's been a really tough season with injuries but now almost everyone is available and it feels good."
Spurs harbour cautious hopes that Dejan Kulusevski might regain fitness in time to contribute from the bench against Frankfurt, although a starting berth seems improbable for the crucial encounter.
Manager Postecoglou is similarly optimistic about central defender Kevin Danso's potential return following a hamstring injury, offering Tottenham a defensive lift, yet the upcoming match against Wolves may be too soon for the pair.
Udogie remains confident in Spurs' ability to advance despite not overcoming the Bundesliga team at home, a game marked by striking the woodwork twice.
He asserted: "We have 100 per cent confidence we can go through.
"Obviously we all want to win this competition so every game is important, it's tough and we have to give our best.
"But we are really confident in our qualities so we're going there next week knowing in ourselves that we are a good team, we just want to win the game."
Recently, the 22 year old full-back Udogie has caught the eye of Manchester City as a possible summer acquisition.
AC Milan also hold an interest in the skilled Italian international, especially with Theo Hernandez potentially exiting San Siro when the season concludes.
Tottenham, on the other hand, have minimal interest in a sale and are resolute in their efforts to retain Udogie in north London.
