Jamshedpur: A bomb disposal squad jawan of Jharkhand Jaguar (JJ) was injured in an IED explosion trigerred by Maoists in the Saranda forest in West Singhbhum on Monday.
"The explosion occurred when the security forces were carrying out a combing operation on Kulapaburu-Marangponga stretch under Chotanagra police station limits in the morning," said SP, Ashutosh Shekhar.
The jawan, Manoj Kumar Damai, in his 30s, suffered splinter injuries. He has been airlifted to Ranchi for further treatment following initial medication at the CRPF camp. The SP said that combing operation has been launched afresh following inputs about 13 senior operatives of the Maoists outfit being on the move in the Saranda with the squad members.
