The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is expected to announce the Class 12 Supplementary Examination Results 2025 in the first week of August, as per recent trends and updates shared by official sources and education experts. The compartment exams were conducted in a single-day format on July 15, 2025, for all subjects, and the evaluation process is reportedly underway.

In recent years, CBSE has followed a consistent pattern of releasing supplementary results within two to three weeks of the exam. In 2024, the results were announced on August 2, and in 2023, on August 1. Based on this trend, the CBSE Class 12 compartment results for 2025 are expected between August 1 and August 7, 2025. However, an official confirmation from the board is still awaited.
What are CBSE supplementary exams ?The supplementary or compartment exams provide a second chance to students who could not clear one or more subjects in their board exams. This year, approximately 1.29 lakh students from Class 12 were eligible to appear in the supplementary exam, based on the results of the main board exams declared on May 13, 2025. The overall pass percentage in the main exam was 88.39%, with 14.96 lakh students passing out of 16.92 lakh who appeared.

Where and how to check the resultOnce declared, students will be able to check their results on the following official websites:

Steps to check your result:

  • Visit the official CBSE results portal .
  • Click on the link that says “Senior School Certificate Compartment Examination (Class XII) Results 2025”.
  • Enter your roll number, school number, admit card ID, and the security pin.
  • Click ‘Submit’ to view and download your marksheet.
  • Students are advised to keep their admit cards handy and check all details carefully on the result sheet. The digital marksheet will be provisional and should be downloaded immediately for reference until the original is issued by schools.
What after supplementary results? For students aiming for college admissions, the CBSE Class 12 supplementary result is crucial, as several universities across India have kept their admission windows open or scheduled supplementary rounds specifically for compartment candidates. Clearing this exam makes students eligible for academic programs that require a pass certificate with no pending subjects. After checking their result, students should immediately inform their school to obtain the official copy of the marksheet, update their academic records as needed, and pursue admission or reapply for opportunities they may have missed earlier.
