'Jaat,' starring Sunny Deol in the lead, continues its steady run at the box office on Day 8. Known for its high-octane action scenes and engaging storyline, the film showcases Deol in his signature massy avatar as he takes on the powerful criminal Ranatunga, played by Randeep Hooda. Directed by Gopichand Malineni, the action-packed drama is performing well in afternoon shows, showing no signs of slowing down.
‘Jaat’ holds steady on Day 8 at the Box Office
'Jaat', which was released on April 10, has been in theatres for over a week. On Day 8, midday trends show that the film is holding steady, though there hasn’t been much movement during the afternoon shows. A slight drop in collections is expected on this second Thursday. Now, all eyes are on the film’s performance in the evening and night shows. According to Sacnilk.com, 'Jaat' earned around 1.52 Cr India net on its eighth day.
Expectation of 60 crore
The action-packed drama earned ₹4 crore on its first Wednesday. With a seven-day total of ₹55.75 crore, the Sunny Deol-starrer is expected to reach just under ₹60 crore by the end of today.
The film produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory, isn’t a complete entertainer and doesn’t fully connect with mass audiences across the country. The film received mixed reviews from viewers.
Intense actions
While Sunny Deol carried Jaat with his intense action scenes and strong screen presence, the film lacked elements like romance and appealing music that could have drawn in a wider audience, especially women. It mainly targets male viewers in Tier 2 and Tier 3 cities who enjoy action films or are fans of the 'Gadar 2' star.
Past projects
The film marks Sunny Deol’s return to the big screen after two years. His last film, 'Gadar 2: The Katha Continues', was a massive blockbuster. However, before that, his films like 'Chup: Revenge of the Artist', 'Blank', 'Bhaiaji Superhit', and 'Mohalla Assi' didn’t perform well and were considered flops.
