The incident occurred in the 16th over of RCB’s chase of 158 at the new PCA Stadium in Mullanpur. On the fourth delivery, Kohli nudged Arshdeep Singh toward deep square leg and instantly called for two. But Patidar hesitated after completing the first run, leaving Kohli — already halfway down — fuming as Patidar stalled mid-pitch.

A run-out looked certain, but PBKS skipper Shreyas Iyer's poor relay throw missed the stumps, giving Patidar a lifeline. Kohli, though, was livid.

Cameras caught the RCB stalwart yelling at Patidar, visibly frustrated over the near-disastrous mix-up. Patidar too looked agitated, but tempers cooled quickly, and the two were later seen smiling as RCB wrapped up a dominant victory.

Kohli remained unbeaten on 73 off 54 balls and played a key role alongside Devdutt Padikkal (61 off 35), sharing a 103-run stand that anchored the chase. Patidar fell shortly after the heated moment, caught at deep mid-wicket in the 17th over.
Earlier, RCB's spinners Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma starred with the ball, sharing four wickets to restrict PBKS to 157/6.
During his match-winning knock, Kohli surpassed David Warner’s record for the most fifty-plus scores in IPL history.
