Multiple explosions reported at Pakistan air bases - What we know so far

NEW DELHI: Multiple explosions were reported across various Pakistani air bases and army base on Saturday morning, amid heightened tensions in the region. A Reuters witness confirmed blasts at three military bases in the country.

Pakistan Army spokesperson Lt Gen. Ahmad Sharif, in a televised address claimed that India launched several missile on three key air bases—Nur Khan base in Rawalpindi, Murid base in Chakwal, and Rafiqui base in Jhang district, Punjab province.

He claimed that "most of the missiles have been intercepted" and asserted that “all Pakistan Air Force assets are safe.”

Sharif further alleged that some of the Indian missiles had landed in India’s eastern Punjab and even in Afghanistan, saying Pakistan has “evidence to prove it.”

He said that no air-to-surface missiles had been fired by Indian jets.

Despite these claims, there has been no official statement from India regarding the alleged missile strikes.

Meanwhile in Jammu and Kashmir ’s Akhnoor , a complete blackout was imposed after explosions and sirens were reported. A similar temporary blackout was enforced in Punjab’s Jalandhar following drone sightings, according to the District Collector.
