Bengaluru: A 42-year-old man allegedly murdered his wife by slitting her throat with a knife over suspicion of infidelity and is currently on the run. The incident took place on Friday night in the Electronic City police limits.
The deceased has been identified as Sharada (35), a native of Bagepalli in Chikkaballapur district. The accused, Krishna, worked as a daily wage labourer, while Sharada was employed as a domestic help.
According to police, Krishna frequently consumed alcohol and often quarrelled with his wife. Due to ongoing domestic disputes, the couple had been living separately in recent months. Their son lived with Krishna, while their daughter stayed with Sharada.
Police said that Krishna had been suspecting Sharada of having an extra-marital affair and had repeatedly confronted her about it. On Friday night, he allegedly visited her residence in an inebriated state and attacked her with a knife near Electronic City, killing her on the spot before fleeing the scene.
A case has been registered at the Electronic City police station.
