In a tragic road accident that occurred on Saturday night near Deralakatte, a 56-year-old woman from Kerala was killed after being struck by a Bolero vehicle while attempting to cross the road.
The deceased has been identified as Sreekamala, a resident of Shantikalani in Chandranagar, Palakkad. She was the wife of Gopakumar Menon. The accident took place near the Bairy’s turning point close to an apartment complex where she was staying. While crossing the road, a speeding Bolero hit her, resulting in her death on the spot.
Sreekamala had arrived in Mangaluru just two days ago from Kerala to visit her daughter, who is currently pursuing her MBBS at a medical college in Deralakatte and preparing for examinations.
South Traffic Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the incident.
